A great effort by Charles Johnson led the Santa Fe Fuego (17-11) to a 12-7 win over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (9-17) on Thursday at Fort Marcy Park.
Johnson hit two home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Johnson went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Johnson homered in the second and fourth innings.
Kyal Williams racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Even though Jeremiah Steinert allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. Steinert struck out five, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Ryan Ward (1-1) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
